About Us
The Hagerstown Aviation Museum, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation dedicated to the preservation and promotion of the Hagerstown, Maryland region’s more than 100 years of extraordinary aviation history.
The Hagerstown Aviation Museum's mission of preserving local aviation history is well under way. Over the past twenty five years the museum has been donated twenty three aircraft, sixteen of which were built in Hagerstown at Fairchild Aircraft. The museum’s ultimate goal is to have a permanent home to house the collection and be open to the public on a regular basis. Since the museum does not have a permanent home to display the museum aircraft, the museum holds many events throughout the year for the public to see, walk through the aircraft and take a ride in a Fairchild PT-19 Trainer from WWII.
October 1, 2020: Then museum signed a lease for the original 1943 Fairchild Aircraft Flight Test Hangar, known as the Dome Hangar, for the permanent home of the Hagerstown Aviation Museum. More news to follow.
